Well hello Calgunners, this is my first post here. I've always been interested in firearms and shooting as a sport about 4 months ago I got my first gun. A rossi matched pair in the youth size with 22lr, and 20gauge barrels, gun is a single shot and lots of fun, currently using a cheap feild sport red dot for my sight. Really fun gun for under 200 bucks. Ive shot it out to 100yds so far and was able to hit the metal targets fairly consistently, with the shotgun barrel on it has quite the kick. I feel it more than most bigger shotguns.
Next on my list was the hp22a, I wanted a handgun in 22lr because of how cheap it is to shoot. I read around on the Phoenix arms hp22a and heard both good and bad. My little hp22a is super reliable over 1500 rounds down the pipe and I've had 10 total failures, 8 were from a bad box of rem 333. I break down completely and clean and each day of shooting, I've checked for any signs of rail splitting and no cracks so far. My only issue is with my hands and inexperience i cant manage to get a group smaller than 6 or 8 inches out of the 3 inch barrel at 7-15yds. Once i improve my accuracy ill be happy, though I won't complain for 180 otd.
Finally after lurking here for a while I took an interest in the marlin 795. Still as cheap as my rossi and hp22a it does seem to be a great gun for the price. Mine has 2 more days in jail and i have a little 3-9x-40x scope for it. Gonna leave it all stock for a while though the aftermarket triggers and stocks do look enticing. Picked up 3 extra magazines locally for pretty cheap so i can't wait to take it out to the range.
Thanks for reading ill post up some pics soon!
