    Gen3 17 .22 LR AA conversion runs great :)

Cutting to the chase since it was a new kit never been fired and new glock 17

I made sure the AA slide kit was "wet" where there was any metal contact &

moving. Per directions ran 40gr HV mini-mags and 40gr HV Blazers no issues.

I forgot to bring Fed auto match rounds, perhaps later visit. Also tried Win Super

X hv Rn, jams occurred. I noticed after 100 rounds wasnt as accurate than

Initial fired rounds....oh well it cycled normal and after last round slide locked

Open as was supposed to. Ive read other people polished barrel/feed ramp

so its not so picky with ammo, can anyone confirm? Lmk thanx

Did you oil the sliding aluminum part which fits into a slot in the slide? I am cursed with an AA on my G17 that doesn't go into battery, doesn't eject, stovepipes, and has slam fired once.

Unplated 22lr ammo can foul a barrel pretty quick. You can be making keyholes in paper in 50rds. Some barrels / ammo worse than others. I stick to plated ammo.

How close in weight is it to the factory G17 slide? Is it a lot lighter?

I have an AA kit for my Gen 3 G19 that I shoot a lot. My experience is that cleaning before it gets really grimy is all you need to do to keep it running reliably. Of course, a lot of 22 ammo is absolutely filthy, so you may have to wipe it out and re-lube after every shooting session. I've had many failures in the years I've had this kit, but every one was fixed by cleaning and lubing.
