    Scope Adjustment ?

Took my new Savage Mark II .22 LR to the range , mounted a Mueller target scope on it using Warne Maxima Series steel rings. Just shy of 100 yards and I'm out of adjustments for elevation. Any ideas ? Thanks

Have you used the scope and rings before?

I had the same problem with a savage and Muller scope. Used a +25MOA rail by
Dip Products. Problem solved. See Doser94 post for URL.

I would also try reversing the rings front to rear first. If that does not work then additional canted rail would be next.

Not sure what reversing the rings is going to accomplish. If you're thinking they are out of spec than keeping those rings will only lead to potential damage of your scope.

A scope mount with built in MOA (cant) is your best solution. Go with at least 20moa.

The first thing that I would do is check the scope.

Adjust the elevation knob to the very center of the adjustment range.
Attach a laser bore sight into the muzzle, point it at a wall 10 yards away.
Look through the scope while making adjustments to the elevation knob.
10 clicks up, back to the middle, then 10 clicks down.
Did the reticle move an equal amount up and down in relation to the laser?
20 clicks up, back to the middle, then 20 clicks down.
                  Equal movement?

According to Mueller, the 32x scope is supposed to have 40 inches of adjustment at 100 yards. I'm guessing that's 20" up, 20" down.

Thanks for the ideas everyone, so far it looks like a 20 MOA scope mount may be the best bet.
