    GSG 1911/22LR/TESTED SATURDAY

I picked this up today, just wanted to show what it looks like, the grips
have been changed and the mag disconnect removed. The trigger has a
little creep but was 3# on a scale. You can check UTUBE for the takedown which
is a little different, extra front sites, and allen wrenches in the bag. Has a
good feel at 35 OZ. Dimensions look very close to a real 45.The three dot sights look ok but drift adjustment. Do NOT
dry fire without the little plastic anchor that is in the bag,you can break the
firing pin. Will check back after shooting this weekend. Pete

I have one. It shot CCI mini mags without a hiccup.
With bulk golden bullets it would FTE every mag but after about 100 rounds of that it ran with no issues. I am happy with mine.

I've tried to talk myself into buying one several times. Have come across some good buys, but every time I pick one up they just seem so cheesy. Reminds me exactly of a couple of GBB airsoft 1911's I have.

The one I think I would like is the Colt Gold Cup. Of course, not a Colt, nor on roster. I haven't handled one, it likely feels and looks just as cheesy. Only $289 @CDNN. The roster really screws us bad in rimfire pistols.

you cant beat the gsg 1911-22 for under $300. Its more fun to shoot than my SR22, P22, or Colt Cadet.

Amazing gun! Just be careful enough not to push up slide lock accidentally while shooting - it will damage the slide a little bit.

I picked one up on sale at Turners for $279 and glad I did. Great shooter!

$279? hhhmmmmm... how recent was that? It's $329.98 now on sale @ Turner's Fall Sale. $50 difference.

I'm having a tough time deciding ATI GSG 1911-22 or Walther P22.

Can anyone comment re the two firearms as to, in general, which firearm is more reliable? I've read that both have issues.

Also have read and seen in videos that the aluminum slide finish wears quickly on the ATI GSG 1911-22.

It's too bad that Turner's no longer seems to offer the S&W model 22A or the Beretta Neos (recent recall?). I'd go with either over the GSG or the P22.

I bought GSG because it fits my hands better, P22 has much smaller hand grip.
Both models are pretty peculiar on ammo and a lot depends on particular gun - some shoots reliable, some not. For GSG you may need to polish slide to remove excessive paint or just shoot CCI mimags for first 500-1000 rounds.
PS Did you look at ISSC M22? Its very cheap nowadays and looks and feels good.

                    Thanks for your comments.

P22Q apparently comes with interchangeable back straps.

I think that I'm limited as to purchase location- layaway deposit already placed on Walther. So, it will likely have to be a Turner's purchase. But gun has not DROS'd yet so I can switch over to another firearm of my choosing. I will check out the ISSC M22 on Turner's site to see if available, etc.

Later: ISSC not listed on Turner's website. I may have to give them a call.

I usually still bring mine out everytime I hit the range:

Here's a thread on mine I did when they first came out. I stopped updating but mine is still solid - even after 10k rounds

Now that's impressive with some many rounds through it.

Thanks for your post and also for the link to the thread.

                          Called my local Turner's,
ISSC not available through them, Beretta Neos is now off-roster, S&W 22A is a discontinued firearm.

So, for me, it's either the GSG or the P22. I like the P22 looks a lot, and have the one with the nickel slide on layway (1-in-30 rule).

As a lefty, the GSG is appealing because it has ambi thumb safety and it's a 1911 style pistol.

But P22 has ambi safety as well.

                          Decisions, decisions...

I got a Sig sauer one, which is the exact same thing just different brand. Paid $399 for it before they discontinued it, probably over paid a lil for the novelty effect of having a sig brad. It did come with a 1911 holster and 2 mags though, can't complain there. After break in they are really fun to shoot with no hiccup on mini mags. I enjoy shooting it, great shooter to put holes in paper.

Great plinker. Not as accurate as a 22/45, but hasn't been picky with ammo (CCI Blazer 40grn mostly). The only things that suck are the plastic sights and finish on the slide that starts wearing away if you so much as blow on it. I have maybe about 2000-2500 through mine.
