Hi All,
In anticipation of receiving my new scope and rifle, I'm prepping to sight in the combo so that I'm up and running accurately as soon as possible. I plan to sight in the combo at 25 yards because that's what is most readily available and where I'll be shooting 80-90% of the time. However, once or twice per month I hope to get out to a range that has 100 yard (and well beyond) options.
So. . . having a little extra time, I thought I'd do a little research. Using two different calculators (links below), the calculations indicate that if I sight in at 25 yards, when I then shoot at 50 yards I'll be ~.6 inches low, and at 100 yards I'll be ~ 7.8 inches low. There's some variance between the two calculators, but let's set that aside for the moment. Trying to apply a real world sanity check. . . . does that feel right? I used CCI SV as a baseline for these calcs.
Cheers,
schills
