My Browning SA 22 serial number is 5T36*** I'm guessing this is 1965 manufacture. It is a made in Belgium rifle.

1965 was a great year.
I remember when I was a teenager & buying my first rifle for myself...
the older salesman at the local sporting goods store was recommending I buy one of those nice Browning SA 22.
Though I agreed with him on the caliber choice, because back then a brick of .22 was only $10 or less and I knew it was a high quality firearm and I liked the unique way that it loaded from the stock/tube.
but in the end all I could afford was a bone stock Ruger 10-22.
which I enjoyed very much but it would never be a class act, family heirloom or as well balanced as the Brownings are.Last edited by sealocan; 07-25-2015, 10:19 AM.Comment

I too have an older Browning SA22 made in Belgium---mine is the so-called "Wheelsight" model because of it's rear sight where elevation is controlled by a small "wheel"---wonderful little rifle to shoot---females like to shoot it because of it's very light weight...Comment
