    Walther P22

Well after going back and forth between the Sig Mosquito and the Walther P22 I decided on the Walther and put one in jail this morning.

Good decision, Ive heard pros and cons to both, but more cons about the mosquito.

Ive had a p22 for a year and a half and put over 1500 rounds through it. It becomes finicky as it gets dirty and gums up about 400 rounds in. Mine runs well on remington and federal ammo, but HATES winchester white box and aguila. Enjoy it!

Congrats. I have owned 2 of them. Both were picky with ammo (liked the mini-mags best), but were were a hoot to shoot. My wife really liked the size. Easy for her to control.

It was a toss up between this or the Sig Mosquito, I want to use it as a training aid for wife who use to shoot but been many years since she has been out.
If the Rugers had been on the roster I would have bought s MK III Lite.

My Ruger Mkiii Target and Browning Buckmark will shoot anything you feed them. The Walther P22 seems to favor higher end ammo like LAPUA Standard Plus.

                Good little pistols IMO.
Keep in mind that these babies like ammo that goes 1100fps to function.
                22LRHV. Round nose solids.

CG Linkage for the inevitable Q&A that may come up. HERE plug in Walther P22 and go

Son in law has a P22 and I have the Ruger SR22. After having put a thousand rounds or so through them we both favor the Ruger.

I did to but there aren't any Ruger 22 semi auto on the DOJ roster. So for me it was between the Sig Mosquito or Walther P22 wife liked the P22.

                      I also ended up with a Walther P22, also a GSG 1911...

I kind of wish I also picked up the Ruger SR22, it really is a nice pistol. My friend got one and I liked it more than the P22 but I missed my opportunity to get one.

Mine prefers remington golden bullet hollow points. Also does well with CCI mini mag hollow points. Not so much the round nose bullets. I really like shooting the P22, such a fun gun to shoot.

Which do you prefer, and why?

                            Thanks in advance.
