    The Good Old Days

While digging through some old boxes in the garage I found this. B&B Sales used to have a pallet of these on the floor of their Westminster store. I would often buy a brick as an impulse item. Ah! The good old days (before Obama) when ammunition was cheap and plentiful!

The last box of .32 Acp silvertips I bought I got from B and B.

I shot it qualifying for my cow, and had to replace it.

    The old box was $17.99.

The new ones were almost $50.

That was like a supermarket for cool stuff. I spent many bachelor paycheck so there in the good old days.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've bought .22 for myself since 08. LoL.

And I remember 25 cent gas and, better yet, gas wars.

I still have Remington 22lr I bought in the 80s and early 90s and have yet to have a ftf with them in any of my rifles or pistols.. Last week shooting a 10/22 with BX-25 and my wife's SR-22 with those old rounds.

Lots of hang out time in B&B

Same vein but different, I remember not too many years ago buying the South African milsurp 7.62x51 - 140 round battle packs for $24. I cashed an overtime check in 2002 or 2003 and bought 20 battle packs. I've got one left that I just can't seem to shoot as its like a reminder I'm not crazy, things really were drastically different not too long ago.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

B&B in OC, that brings back memories.

Bought my first Sig p220 at B&B from their North Hollywood (?) store back in the early 80s I think. That was quite a place, much smaller than the Fountain Valley/Garden Grove store.

I think their wholesale business was called BumbleBee ?

ps.. Back when they had that unbelievable street firefight bank robbery in N Hollywood (late 80s/early90s ?), I remember hearing that B&B was handing out ARs and SGs over the counter to the police that found themselves severely outgunned. If you are unaware of that bank robbery, find news footage and watch it.

I remember B&B in North Hollywood quite well---I was the retail manager there in the mid to late 80s for many years---store full of military style semi-auto rifles at cheap prices---cheap ammo and lots of places to shoot it---all gone now…!

I took my wife to the gunshow this weekend. She looked around and after a while asked me if the uppers laying around everywhere were "still legal." [sigh.]
