    New 10/22 bolt release plate?

Just finished a bolt release mod on a newish 10/22. Seemed like the plate had an extra "point" about 90-ish degrees or so from the usual one. Have I been missing this or is it something new? Have I been sniffing too much Hoppes? Seems like this one took a bit more filing & a couple of tries before it worked.

Or you could buy a box of Eley Club for the same $10.
