Buck Mark Pistol Heggis Flip

Has anybody done the flip on a Buck Mark of recent vintage? Did it work? I am wondering if Browning has reconfigured the spring to make the flip not work anymore. Any other options for lightening the trigger pull? Thanks.

My understanding is that this is for older model Buck Marks. Don't recall cut-off vintage, but that is what I remember from when I researched this for a new Buck Mark I bought about 8 months ago.

I have done it on 2 within 1.5 years old....worked great.

The spring can be manipulated in the newer pistols, and it works, but I reverted to original configuration, it feels better for me.

I tried it with a pistol I purchased about 3 years ago. The trigger was dramatically better, but the reliability was terrible. The hammer would follow the slide, probably about 30-40% of the time, requiring a manual recock/ejection of a live round.

As an alternative, Volquartsen now makes a target hammer for the buckmark that drops the trigger weight to 2 lbs:

I tried the Heggis flip on two Buck Mark pistols, both made within the past 1 1/2 years and purchased new. The result was sear flutter and no reliability in either gun. Instead, I switched to the Browning Silhouette springs and have been happy with their performance. Lighter trigger pull than the stock springs and 100% reliability!
