17hmr case split

Used some older Federal 17hmr ammo today. The third shot stuck in the chamber after firing. After useing a rod to remove the case, it had a split in the neck area. Marlin 17hmr rifle. I suspect the ammo not the rifle. Anyone ever had this happen?

It's happened with every brand of ammo and every 17 hmr rifle I've shot. Not every round, but quite a bit. I thought my chamber had a problem at first, but I guess it's pretty normal.
