    Ruger 10/22 Mad Max rifle

    Hi everyone,

I just wanted share a link to a video of my latest Ruger 10/22 build.

It was inspired by the post-apocalyptic movie genre.

    Enjoy

Cool thing about movies is they bring new gun people into this world.

Bad thing about these movies is it brings this crap, and fantacy buffs into this hobby lol

if that's what you like on your rifle I say go for it. This is America do it as you like it.
I think it's nice work in the video is pretty slick as well.
a lot of the mods look very cool to me.
but if the spikes and made out of rubber that's an inventive & Hollywood way of doing it.
and if the spikes are made of metal I think the design need some rethinking.

before your YouTube video played I was expecting the "Mad Max rifle" to be dirty wrapped up with a handkerchief, maybe a brass thumbtack design like American Indians used to put on their rifles, fake suppressor can, maybe some military "rack numbers" stenciled on the stock, or that green tape that the Afghani fighters seems to love to put on their dirty AKs...

you know, make it look used and abused, yet is still fully functional...

like it's been there and back..
              like Mad Max himself.

The worst thing about these movies is that politicians see them and think that's how it really is with firearms.

The spikes are just for the video.* I don't shoot with them on - they're plastic.

I originally had a much more worn out look but it didn't work without having the barrel match. I wasn't going to pay to get it done.

The rifle's true purpose is to use as a race rifle in rimfire competition.

Other than the obviously silly spikes and mad max reference....the rest I kinda like...like a super light weight tactical squirrel sniper..chip n dale beyond acorn dome

Sgt. Ernie Savage: Good morning, Sergeant Major.
Sergeant Major Basil Plumley: How do you know what kind of goddamn day it is?

Sergeant Ernie Savage: Beautiful morning, Sergeant!

So... it's a kidd/nodak build in a cheap stock that someone went nuts on with a soldering iron and added spikes to?

Aside from the spikes, I don't see what's "post apocalyptic" or "mad max" about it. If the thing was built using a 2x4 as a stock and maybe had an appearance of using bent nails to keep the barreled action in place or something equally crazy looking... sure.

                            poor op lol

have to agree with most... kind of a bad idea to do it to an actual firearm. but to each their own!

Just a matter of taste I guess, not for me.
