CGSSA rimfire monthly match - May

Sorry for the delay guys. Here's the match for this month. Taking Izzy's advise, we're going to run the same match for the next three months as people get busier as the weather gets nicer (or drier and hotter, depending on where you live...).

In any event, rules for the match can be found here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...94&postcount=1

And targets can be found here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...99&postcount=2

So is it one match that lasts 3 months, or 3 matches, all the same?

Same match each month for the next three. Still a winner each month.

Thanks for posting the match and thanks for clarifying. Looks like I can print a bunch of the same targets.

Hope I get to shoot this month. We have 6" of snow on the ground right now and 34 degrees. Also heading on a road trip to Texas and Missouri on the 20th of this month and gone for 3 weeks. I will try to shoot if the weather allows. Good luck to all the shooters.

Just found this thread... sounds fun.

Not too many competitors though, and those of you posting targets are damn good shots. It's all for fun, so I'll give it a shot!

How about a children's category? My grandkids would love to try...

I turned the target classes and rules into a PDF if anyone wants to print and keep in a range bag: CGSSA Monthly Rimfire Match Target Classes.pdf
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one.

This sounds fun. I'll be going to a monthly shoot this week, so I should have something to post up soon.

Do we have to use the targets that are linked in the targets post? The 25 yd Pistol target prints out horrible for me. I can't tell where 10/9 separate. Both are one single black blob. I'll shoot it, but it might be hard to score.

Have you tried printing in color? I see more of a defined line that way. But I normally print in black and white, and lighten up the printer setting. Try one or both of those and see what you get.

Hope I'm not the ONLY person to post targets for the month, but here they are:

                        25 yd offhand pistol--94
                        15 yd offhand pistol--100

I have a laser printer that's only b&w. I tried lightening it up some, but still wasn't enough to see the dividing ring.

Yea, I think you're the only one this month. Most likely will be the winner. Nice shooting there.

Unless no other targets are posted in the next couple hours, it looks like shakyshoot takes the month uncontested. I'll wait to make a formal announcement until the morning.

I think we'll make a slight adjustment to try to make things more interesting. We'll continue with the same targets for the next three months, but make it one match for all three months (June, July, August) and award a first, second, third place prize at the end of the summer. I'll start the new thread about it tomorrow.

My buddy and I shot the decreasing dot/bulls eye target yesterday. It is a kick in the butt! Need a better set up, other than a card table in the front yard, to score decently but we will continue forward. Maybe we can get one good enough to submit.
