It's tempting, but I can probably reload my .223 for the same or less than the cost of the ammo.

        I'm taking a different route -

Buy the Ruger then complain about lousy accuracy due to the two piece bolt. Eventually I'll sell it for a loss, just in time to see the CZ come out in 17 WSM. In fact, I've no doubt the act of my dumping $$$ will have some sort of cosmic effect over there, that a technical hurdle will be overcome by the CZ types as soon as my credit card number bounces off a satellite with "charge approved".

"Aha, Demitry - he's wasted his money. Now we perfect the CZ 417 ......"

        No doubt.

Well hurry up and buy it then!

          I think I might like a CZ in 17WSM.

I spent my money on an AR in 17WSM. After the first time out I was shooting group of 5 at 100 yards under an inch. Love that semi auto and 10 rounds available. The Ruger at the Shot Show was real nice, with the laminate stock. Too bad that they finally released the gun and put a wood stock on it. Watch, after sales slows, it will be available in laminate. Savage is doing the same thing with the newer B-Mag, showing laminate models on the web but hasn't hit the market yet. Still to many with plastic stocks in inventory Im guessing.

Yes, my friend: that is the way of life. Personally, I am waiting to see if Anschutz will consider it worthy of chambering in a 54-action repeater.

I bought the Savage heavy barrel in stainless, I can't wait to get a wood stock for it.

First left-hand model will get my money.

We have one and are currently doing our range testing. After that, we will be taking it hunting. We should have our range report up in about a week.

Otherwise, it looks as if Volquartsen finally shipped a rifle out. Apparently, with more to follow in about a month.

I looked at one the day before yesterday at a local gun store and it's a beauty. At between 700-800 per pop I'm going to have to pass on them. I already own a B Mag and it opens up a varmint real serious.

Thanks! I will be releasing a new article and video on the F17 over on our sister site, AR15Hunter.com sometime next week. I hope you like it!

Btw, my Editor, who is range testing our Ruger 77/17 in Ohio, killed a nice sized ground hog with it today (American Eagle 20 grain) at 127 yards! I can't wait until it gets here in a couple of weeks for me to take it hunting!

I kinda don't get it with the 17WSM. Once you get past 17hmr or 22MAG isn't time to jump to center fire? 223/556 ammo is about the same price or even cheaper and plentiful. CZ already makes a great bolt rifle in that caliber. What am I missing?
