    Red Dot on a Marlin 60 ??

So my new Marlin Model 60 has a grooved receiver designed to handle tip-off-type 22 scope bases. Tip-off-type-scope bases are easy to find.

But I'd like to try a Red Dot on it and basically they are all Weaver or Picatinny mounts.

I'm totally confused trying to find an adapter. An hour googling doesn't tell me "this weaver/picatinny rail mounts in the Model 60 grooves". Some of the rails say they fit this or that size groove but Marlin doesn't say what kind of groove the 60 has.

Any help pinpointing the right one to buy?

If you are going with a red dot, don't get a Tasco or BSA get a Bushnell TRS-25 and you'll never be sorry. Small sight, 3MOA dot (red only) but a great sight in the red dot world. Had a Tasco, Leapers and BSA, all failed within months. Got 2 TRS-25s and love em.

Second the TRS, very nice little sights. We even ran one on a AR15 for awhile and it held zero even on that.

Be somewhat careful installing that top rail. I have seen some break their scope grooves on the receiver installing them on a Model 60..
