    Looking for .22 biathlon

    Hey guys,
I have had a burning desire to try my hand in the biathlon world. But not quite sure I wanna drop $1500 for a base anschutz Or ishmash rifle. I'd say my budget is $500-800 For now. I'd appreciate any help or leads on new or used rifles. Thanks guys!

Marlin made a nice biathalon starter rifle several years ago. Hopefully you can find one of these used.

Had an Anschutz back in the mid 70s. Spend the money - look for a used one.

If I were you, I'd save up until your budget is enough to afford a nice anschutz or feinwerkbau. You won't regret it.

Although the CMP did release some Kimber 82's on the market a while back, if you could hunt down one of those that would probably be a decent choice with your budget.

Another vote for the Marlin---pretty reasonable price back then---GF of my shooting buddy had one untill injured in car crash and shoulder and neck area made it so she couldn't hold up the rifle anymore. Now she has super lightweight old Remington Nylon 66 22lr---only rifle she can hold and shoot...

Not sure where you are, but temecula pawn had a rough anschutz with no rear sight for $600ish when I was in there a week or so ago.

These guys are CA based and have a hefty backlog; you might be able to find one of their used gen 1/2 setups w/ a savage action in your price range.

I realize it's not a true biathalon rifle, but I had one of these for a while and it was a great value. Izhmash CM-2:

I picked it up for around $500, but they may have gone up since then?

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.
