    Ruger MK II

Went to the range to test my repaired MK II from Ruger. They replaced the hole lower on my old gun because the frame had cracked. I was sure as hell was not from over use. So I do not know why it happened. Anyway the pistol worked great with different ammo. Only had one light primer strike. I did find that the gun sure liked the Rem Yellow Jacket. Now if I can just find some cheap.
Oh by the way, did I say that Ruger factory did a lousy job on the trigger. It was worse then what I had when I sent it to them. I had to rework the whole trigger Assy. when I got it before I shot it. That was a Bummer.

Did they replace it with a MK II lower and parts, or MK III parts?

Photo looks like a stress crack. Did you shoot Stingers in the MkII? Was your bolt stop battered?

I have a MK II 5.5" bull bbl. that has tens of thousands of Remington high-speed ammo with no problems. It is an early gun bought when the MK II first came out.

I love ruger rifles and pistols I own several and they are my go to firearms for hunting, but I hate ruger triggers.

I think what you really have to love is their implied lifetime warranty, that doesn't care how many times the gun has changed hands. From what I've heard, you can basically send your gun in and as long as the problem didn't happen from abusing it, they fix it and send it back; new parts, maybe even refinished/blued.

It's just a bad weld that gave up after a long happy life.

I'd egged out the trigger pin holes on one MKII lower many times and just moved a little metal around to tighten them back up. Well over 100K through it over the years.

I finally gave up and swapped it out with a Volquartsen Alloy Lower. Still plinking right along.

I have been the sole user or present when it was being used. It did not break from over use. I cannot figure out why it happened. I treated it with TLC. Go figure!

Nope, no Stingers ever and the bolt looks fine.

Looks like they used a MK II lower & some of my original parts. They did re-blue the upper.

That's good, it'd be irritating to get a gun back with a mag disconnect added.

Exactly! I've heard of guns being fixed, but the aftermarket or honed and polished parts were replaced by brand new stock parts.

Go check out the Rimfire-Central forum for info on trigger work that can be done by the average owner. Good information there.
