Just Ordered a Browning Buck Mark Practical URX

Well, I did it. After shopping around I got in contact with Ron at Armory Outpost in Rancho Cordova. He hooked me up with a great price on a Buck Mark Practical URX. Going to fill out the paperwork tonight. I am pretty excited after handling one at SGC a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately that one had sold. I would have prefered the top model Buck Mark UDX Plus but I couldn't justify the $100+ premium it commands.

Here is what the practical looks like:

I guess it's time to join rimfire central since I just bought my 3rd 22LR gun huh?

Any other buck mark owners out there have an advice for me?

I love mine, came with 3 mags which was really nice. It's a great gun to start shooters off with. Really accurate. Just keep it clean I have had some FTE.

        Nice. I've been eye-balling these.

Was that the one that came with the soft case too? I was wondering if those were CA legal. I only get one mag with it but there is a promo till the end of the month for free Ammo, but CA residents get a free magazine instead so I guess I get 2 at least!

I didn't do a sse so I'm sure is CA legal. I've had mine for about 2ish years. The extra mags help. I'm thinking you're going to be in the same boat. They're not cheap, but I love the way it feels and shoots..triger, sights etc.

Shoot, repeat, shoot, repeat as necessary.
I mounted a red dot on mine. Easy to do with after market rail.
Scary accurate and fun. So a future option you might consider.
Oh, the blue locktite on takedown screws is also a very good idea.

Picked up my buck mark camper yesterday afternoon. Gave it a good cleaning last night and hope to get to the range tomorrow. Will start out shooting 40 grain cci's but will also bring along other brands to try.

I picked up the Buckmark UDX about a month ago. Great gun, shoots nice and easy, and my kids both love it. Only issue I had/still have is the factory supplied mag works perfect, but the 2 other Browning brand mags get caught in the mag release and won't come out of the gun. To get the mag out I take the grip off and remove the mag release from the frame. Just need to do some minor grinding on the mag release and it should be good to go. I also bought the 3/32" allen driver and it saved me some grief by allowing me to fix the issue while at the range. Removed the right grip and the mag popped right out.

Wow, that sounds strange. I wonder why the supplied mag would work but not other browning branded mags. Taking the grip off sounds like a hassle. BTW, The UDX was the one I really wanted but I settled for the URX due to a big price gap. Is yours the blued one or the stainless with the black grips?

I posted a thread about it and was told that some minor fitting of the mag release was needed. No sense in sending it back really for such a minor issue. The store bought mags are just a hair wider than the supplied mag, nothing else is different. They fit just a little more snug into the magwell. Pulling the grip wasn't that big of a deal, although I had already watched a youtube video on how to remove the mag disconnect link so that was a huge help.

I got the stainless version with the tru-glo front sight. I rented a URX at the range but I didn't really care for the rubber grips. The UDX was a bit more, but I felt buying what I really wanted was more important than the price.

Great gun, I think I prefer my Buck Mark Practical to my 22/45 I've had for years.

Your picture isn't showing up for me, is yours the same as mine or is the URX the one with the wood grips?

I picked up a little reflex sight I'm going to mount on mine, just have to get the rail to mount it.

Bought one used a few years ago, haven't shot it much due to a very hair trigger that's almost scary. Seems like the heat of your finger would fire the pistol. Checked to see if someone had done the Sear Spring Reversal to "lighten the trigger pull" nope the spring was in the factory position and still way too light for me. Just got a new spring from Brownell's and installed it in the factory configuration and I'm MUCH happier now actually have to put pressure on the trigger to fire it. Pistol is very accurate, it's a slab side 4 in bbl model. I'm thinking about that Williams sight set from Brownell's for it also. I've found the mag loaders are a finicky PIA so now I just use a loading tool to push the follower button down while loading and it works a lot better for me.

Same as yours. The UDX is the one with the laminate wood grips. It's also a bit pricier and harder to find. If you got all three of those as stocking stuffers, I am jealous!
