Ruger mk 3 red dot mounting

hey guys i got a line on a used burris fastfire 2 that i really want to mount on my mk 3 target, but before i buy it i gotta figure out the mounting situation. i currently have the rail that comes with the gun from ruger installed, which supposedly it is a weaver style rail. the fastfire 2 comes with a "picatinny weaver mount". now i have test fitted another optic i have that is a picatinny mount and it does not mount correctly, it is canted sideways and feels loose. based on that, i am worried that the fastfire will be the same way when mounted.

so i need to find a picatinny rail that mounts on the ruger, or a base for the fastfire that fits a weaver rail. i searched and found mounts specifically for the fastfire on the ruger, that eliminates the rear iron sight and mounts into the slot for it. i do NOT want that. i want to retain the use of the iron sights. i want a rail that still allows me to still use the iron sights with the rail still mounted, if i choose to dismount the fastfire.

does anybody have experience with this? where can i find a rail or mount for this setup?

One of my favorite mounts because the rail can be left on the pistol without disrupting the iron sight picture, and somewhat similar to the factory rail on the latest rendition of the Lite pistol.

That's a good one. Tandemkross sells one as well that I have mounted on my 22-45 with a FFII. I like that it doesn't overhang the barrel.

the tandemkross was exactly what i am looking for! and i didnt really think about it, but the rail overhang on the barrel was a lil fugly. just ordered it up. thanks!

Had an optic that wouldn't mount where I needed it on the stock rail so I made another groove with a round jeweler's file. Yup... I'm cheap but it works just fine.

This is how I did my Docter (same as the Burris). I know you don't to take off the rear sight, but for those that want to commit to the dot, its about the lowest to the bore axis and fastest to align.
