    Mag stuck in new Buckmark

I picked up my new Buckmark the other night. Had an issue with a magazine that won't release from the gun. The factory supplied mag works fine, the Browning brand mag I bought will engage and feed rounds ok but will not come out of the gun. Had to pull the right side grip off and once the mag release is removed the mag popped right out. Visually the mags look identical but the problematic mag seems to be thicker and requires more effort to slide it into the magwell. I need to buy a few more mags to see if it is the gun or the mags to be sure. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Maybe a poorly machined mag release?

Sometimes the end of the mag latch has casting flash on it, and it hits the grip panel on the inside before the mag is fully released. Look up inside the magwell, and push the latch to see how far it moves out of the way. If need be, take the right grip off and take a little off the end of the latch until it moves far enough. I put a Tac-Sol latch in mine and had that very issue. After a little Dremel work on the end, it was all good.

Thanks for the reply. I had the mag release out last night and saw that there looked to be either poor machining or poor fitting of the release. Any idea if browning can send a new part to fix it, or is it a part that gets fitted to each gun? I guess I will spend some time with a grinder and see what I can do with it. Other than that the gun shoots perfect.

My advice is avoid the hassle, and do it yourself. It's not a critical fitting job, you just need to create enough clearance to function properly.

I finally got around to trying another magazine. Turns out I got an out of spec magazine as the others seem to work just fine. I need to buy more anyway so i will send this one back to browning for replacment. The problem mag was very tight in the magwell.
