    .32 rimfire rounds?

So I have my great-grandfathers rifle, a 1902 Remington "Early Takedown" Standard Model No. 4 "Rolling Block".

Where in the hell can I find someone who makes reloads for sale? Buying original ammo that can still fire most likely won't happen.

I just want my sons, and myself for that matter, to know what it sounds like and not just be something cool on the wall you know.

    Thanks!

Is it truly 'rim fire' or is it 32 rimmed ammunition that you are looking for? If it's just .32 rimmed, I would say look at S&W .32 long or .32 short, depending on the actual gun.

I got some primed cases. you'd have to load it with BP and push in a slug. round ball would be perfect. I've tried them in my 32 rimfire derringer.

If it's S&W long like the old Colt New Model Police .32's, then you could use something like these:

The biggest selection of in-stock rounds on the web. Browse the 32 S&W long ammo for sale today at AmmoToGo.com.

you may also look there for S&W short too.

I have an old Remington rolling block. It was given to me and I could never find any ammo. Finally got some for $3.00 each. Bought 10 rounds haven't shot any of them. It is 32rimfire. I'd be willing to send a couple of them so you can at least have a complete rifle and history. I've never shot mine. Just want it to be complete.

I have one as well, looked and near impossible to find, I did see that someone was making adapters to use something else other than .32 rimfire.

            Some info here :

Mine has no sentimental value, only reason I never bought any ammo for it

Check out this video by Larry Potterfield, owner of Midway, as he walks you through his conversion from Rimfire to Centerfire.

Check with any cowboy action shooters. Navy Arms made some a while back. It isn'the an everyday round. You might have to wait until someone makes another batch. When they do, stock up if you want to shoot it. I only have a few boxes left and haven't seen it even at gun shows for a while.

Thanks guys. I'm not interested in changing the gun in ANY way.

Wintoad, I appreciate the offer, thanks!

There's an article in Handloader magazine from a while back that shows how to make centerfire .32 Long shells into rimfire. I'll look around and see if I can locate it. You would need to be a handloader to do this, but if I remember right, there was a source of loaded, already converted, cases mentioned.

                    I'll get back to you.

The article I referred to above is in the October 2011 issue of Handloader, #274, pages 68-75, by Terry Wieland.

The custom loader he mentions as being a source of modified cases is Bob Hayley, Box 889, Seymour, TX 76360, 1-980-888-5532.

You can get back issues of Handloader from Wolf Publishing on CD; last time I ordered one it was about $8.

The loads they made used 8 grains of fine black powder in a modified .32 S&W Long case; I suppose if you found any .32 H&R or .327 cases, you could cut them back to .32 Long length, and probably have to cut the load a bit due to the thicker brass of the "magnum" .32s.

Be nice to get that old single shot poppin' again!

You could reload 32 rimfire just like .22 rimfire if you had the ambition to do so.

They make kits to do .22 rimfire. Maybe someone also makes a kit to do .32 rimfire. If not the same process for .22 could be applied to making .32

Just a thought..The .22 kits are rather expensive, but so is 32 rimfire ammo.

Every so often, someone like Navy Arms makes a run of 32 rimfire ammo---sells out quick and not cheap---at least it's modern ammo. Good luck finding some...
