Great tip. Thanks! Unfortunately, when I had my 10/22 out last week, I need to get off of my lazy rear and install the Tech sights that have been laying on my workbench for about a year. My 50+ year old eyes cannot see the front sight post to save my life, it's a wonder I can hit anything with the stock sights.

I have heard a lot about Que's bolt work from his many satisfied customers. Great work for the price. No doubt I will be sending in some bolts for work when I get some funds.

I've heard great things about Ques work. I've also heard he's a bit streaky about accepting it & overall production. Intended to send him some work not too long ago & ended up at CPC. Randy at CPC does excellent work, jeweling, chambering, headspacing etc. Highly recommended. If Ques done any work for you within the last year, please LMK. I'd like to send some work his way.

I had two bolts and barrels done by Que last year. As you can see from the photos, he does outstanding work. Turnaround time for both was one week. Que's work situation has changed since the new year, and he is no longer doing barrels due to lack of time. He is still doing bolts and quotes a 2-week turnaround time.

As I said in the article, I haven't had one from CPC yet, but I have spoken with Randy and have total confidence in him. CPC will get my next 10/22 to work his magic on. It will be a CMP scoped class and silhouette rifle.

Not only does Que do outstanding work, he is nothing short of an outstanding guy.

Here's the Ruger bolt Randy re-headspaced, cross pinned & jeweled. It's also radiused, which cuts an angle on the rear of the top portion. This allows for smoother cycling. I put a semi-polish inside the receiver. This .22 cycles very very well.

                        I have the same issue.

Rear sight was replaced with a A2 sight I had laying around.
Front is a XS stripped post.
World of difference. With a dark/black I still have a great sight picture.

Will these bolts now cycle lighter charged ammo or something? Like cci quiets?

Mine cycles Aguila 1020fps & does it without fail. That's getting fairly low, not exactly impressive but many wont even cycle 1050-1080 (standard velocity) not reliably. I have an older handle & the rod could be smoother too. The radius job, receiver polish & bolt polish make a significant difference. Bolts are tough to clean up, surface hardness is up there.

Yes, the radius and polishing do help. Two other things help with low-velocity ammo: polishing the inside of the receiver, and using a Rimfire Technologies progressive rate spring on the guide rod.
