    Blazer .22LR possible issues

    I need your wise input.

After some hiatus I decided to knock the dust off on my 10/22 custom, I was able to acquire some Blazer 22LR and decide to try it out....nothing...duds, inspecting the unfired rounds no marks whatsoever. Then I tried the Remington Thunderbolt and the Norma TAC 22LR and it works flawlessly. checking the reviews on the blazer its supposed to be decent ammo. I am running the regular KIDD spring. Is it the spring? I opened another box of Blazer just to check and no bang. Is it the spring? (going to try the other springs just in case) Is it the ammo? is the Blazer underpowered? or is it something else entirely. Thanks for reading.

If there are no marks on the unfired rounds, it's not the fault of the ammunition.

Guessing your rifle was binding up or something until you changed brands.

Blazer is better than average for bulk ammunition, certainly not underpowered.

You are getting light firing pin hits, most likely. The Blazer might not be freely chambering, causing the bolt to not be in full battery. Lock the bolt open and see if the Blazer drops all the way in, if not, clean the chamber with a bent cleaning brush and solvent, and try again. I shoot Blazer and Automatch a lot, because that's what I have. I don't have issues with either, and I do clean the chambers on all my rimfires after a few hundred rounds. I also don't use oil, I use dry spray lube, One Shot. No mud buildup to foul the action up.

I appreciate the input. I will try all your advice. You mentioned terms that are a little new to me but I think I understand it.

Blazers do have have a heavy wax coating on them.
Could that somehow be gumming up the works??
I have shot 1000s of round of Blazers without any
problems. But lots of gun cleaning after to get off
          all the wax build up.

I'll take all that unfired Blazer ammo! You should get yourself a six shooter and then you don't have to worry and wonder about poor quality 22LR ammo, it all fires.

Good luck with the 10/22 - I would go with a better spring.

Blazers shoot great out on my AR's with a bolt. They are hot rounds that can get a bit sticky. I find the cases can get a bit stuck in my revolvers as I have to push them out.

I have been shooting Blazers in 22LR and have had no issues at all. I like Blazer Ammo.

I have the same problem ..wax is all I can attribute it to {blazer bulk } .. specially during colder days, but through the 15-22 were I'm shooting at a faster rate has time to thin out the wax but the first few shot hang up extracting.... clean up is a bit more were the un-spent combustion residue sticks on the wax coating

same if my wife shoots blazer through her marlin takes a bit to warm up then its fine
but if we're at a range during cease fire period barrel will cool down and the same thing till the heats on

the individual 50rd 500 brick seem to have a better quality in coating

                    UPDATE:

This is the second time I have used this 10/22 custom prior to this issue. Took it apart, cleaned it (not much to clean) and I switched the recoil spring from the KIDD standard to the KIDD +10% (red) and it ate all the ammo I can give it from CCI, Blazer, Norma, Federal, Remington. The only difference is its a little louder than what I have noticed from before. Thanks again everyone
