    Leupold Zero Point Bore Sight

    Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone know any store still selling this item? I had it a few years ago , but lost it sometimes last year. It's kinda handy for me but I could not find anyone else selling it. Can anyone point out something similar? or some stores still have it? Thank

I never really understood the point of laser bore sights... what can that accomplish that simply looking through the bore can't? A couple months ago I zeroed my Remington 700 with freshly mounted SWFA scope on a 20moa base, and I managed to get it perfectly zeroed in 3 shots without any lasers involved. If looking through the bore with your eye easily gets you on paper at 100yds, what's the point?

Sorry I can't help you find the item you're looking for, but maybe there are better things to spend the money on (like ammo)? I'm genuinely curious if I'm just missing the point and maybe there's some other use for these I haven't thought of.

Try that with an AR, FAL, SCAR, Mini-14/30, 10/22, etc.

Some rifles you can not look down the bore.

You can also use your eyeball looking down the bore with a SCAR, and I've posted this before but all it takes is a small mirror and you can do it with a FAL, Mini-14, 10/22, or any other firearm that doesn't let you look directly through the chamber.

That being said, if you can simply bring the target closer, you don't even need to boresight it. If you're not on the paper at 10 yards, your scope is going to be visibly off without even firing a shot(unfortunately not all ranges allow targets to be brought that close, metcalf and the 50 yard minimum for rifles irritates me for that reason).

              Hi Guys,
Thanks for the info. Yes, I checked ebay, amazon etc.. none.. Should have bought 2 or 3 of them before.

Anyways, the benefit of this laser boresighter is that I can do all of the boresight at home. When I bring the rifles to the range, I would be able to get the bullet on the paper and just have to do some adjustment (same as traditional method)

Boresighter laser vs traditional method, I use them both, I just think it's more convenience

The Leupold Zero Point bore sight is great, I use it to check for defective turrets.
