    1/3 vs absolute co-wit

What is the disadvantage of going 1/3 co-wit vs absolute co-wit? And what r the advantages?

I have a PA red dot and I'm looking to buy a mount that will co-wit with my irons for my tavor.
I'm also looking to buy their magnifier that flips to the side.

I emailed a customer rep PA (primary arms) and he said most of his customers buys the 1/3 co-wit.

With a A2 front sight I prefer 1/3, with flip downs I like absolute.

Why do u prefer with a a2 sight and absolute with flip up/down sights?

I'm just trying to figure that out. The guy from PA said most of his customers 1/3.

With 1/3 the A2 sight obstructs your view less than with absolute. With flip down its a non factor and you buis are centered when used rather than in your lower 1/3 view.

For my preference, the front sight post doesn't matter, it's the rear sight. If you have a fixed rear sight and absolute co-witness, the rear sight blocks your view, so you raise the red dot for lower 1/3. If your rear sight folds down, then it is not in the way, so you can place the red dot at absolute co-witness if that's what you prefer.

With your Tavor, I'm assuming you have folding sights, so your preference is probably going to be more about cheek weld.

My AR has folding sights. I might go ahead with the absolute. I was doing some research and it seems since I have folding sights absolute seems way to go

Since I plan on buying a magnifier as well the rear sight will probably be folded down most of the time

I went with absolute myself. I will have Magpul MBus pro LR rear and Pro front. with a PA advance microdot. I Love the idea of everything lining up if needed. i got both as a package deal shipped to my door for 200 so i cant complain.

No doubt I prefer absolute coewitness.

I only use flip up BUIS so they are out of the way but I find I prefer that when I do flip them up the line up with my red dot. I no like lower 1/3 as it is disjointed to my eye. All of my AR weapons run absolute coewitness.

1/3 offers better FOV for me. Try both. I did.

Funny I find more FOV with absolute as you don't have a red dot centered & then sight pins below that. When they all line up in 1 plain I find a more open FOV & cleaner sight picture.

Also full cw allows another way to dial in your buis/irons once you get the red dot dialed in.
