    Redfield Revenge opinions.

    Folks,

I have the Redfield Revenge 3x9x42 with the Accu-Hunter reticle. This one of the best bang for your buck scopes out there. What say you? A2

I think the revenge is made overseas and the revaluation is made in Oregon. I have the revaluation 4-12 very clear. I thought it was the clearest for my budget.

The Revolution is supposed to be a US-made optic (or at least US-assembled). I'm just wondering if USMC's Revenge specifically says where it is made.

I'm pondering a Revenge for a Win700 in 308. It's a beater rifle (until I get around to stripping it and having the action used for something interesting), so it gets cheaper glass.

          Revenge.

          Folks,

My Revenge says it is made in the Phillipines. The craftsmanship is fantastic, optics are clear, and love the Accu-hunter reticle. A2

Cool beans. I'll buy Filipino-made glass all day long. It's good stuff for the price.

My friend has that scope on his Ruger American... it isn't bad, but its not amazing either. I wasn't over the moon about its optical clarity, but it gets the job done.

If you can afford to throw a few more bucks at it, check out the Vortex Diamondback 3-9x40. Optically I saw a noticeable improvement and the build quality / fit finish is pretty darn good for the price.

Those two should be easy to find locally for an eyes on comparison, and you might want to check out this article too.

I have a Redfield Revenge 6-18x on a new Remington 783 experimental rifle. The Revenge is indeed made in the Philippines, as are many Burris scopes and others. Here is the place I purchased it from:

Explore top optics for hunting & shooting. Shop rifle scopes, spotting scopes & rangefinders from Leupold, Vortex, Athlon & more. Fast, free shipping $199+.

The Revenge is as good as any I have looked through, superior to many including the newer Nikon Monarchs, and has performed flawlessly. Picture is clear, sharp and has good contrast, and the adjustments are consistent and repeatable. It handled the recoil from stout .30-06 loads and the .25-06 Remington swap barrel, without any changes in zero or glitches. It's a good scope and great value in my opinion. It may not have snob appeal of a scope five times as expensive, but it is completely adequate for my purposes.

The Revolution series is manufactured in Oregon.

Philippine manufacture would not put me off on an optic.

CORRECTION - the V-3 is made in Japan. My Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x32 is made in the Philippines - thanks to ExtremeX for pointing out my error.

I thought the Weaver V3 1-3x was made in Japan?

Seems the PI optics plants are doing some pretty good work. I have the subject scope that I grabbed during a great sale and have it on a 700 in .243. It even came with caliber specific elevation dials, including one for .243, though I have not tried it out yet... Glass, fit and finish are all good for the price point IMHO.

My Burris XTR2 is made in the PI, and it's a really nice scope for the money.

What's better? Redfield 3x9 or Vortex Crossfire II?

I stand corrected - the country of origin is Japan.

Now this makes me wonder what I am thinking of at home that is from the Philippines. Looks like I'm going to be digging in the safe this evening.

My apologies for the erroneous information.

There aren't a lot of magnified optics in the safe, after looking at a couple of catalogs here, I believe I was thinking of my Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x32 FFP as being made in the Philippines.

Had the wrong scope, but I stand by my thoughts on Philippine riflescope manufacture. Good products.

I have a PI made Battlezone on a Rimfire, and briefly had a US Made Revolution Tac, which was returned. My issue with the Revolutions is the numerals for the zoom are painted on the tube, and will rub off just like the Redfield R started to do in the three days I had. The Battlezone numerals are engraved into the tube, ie better made.
