Nikon M-308 for Mossburg MVP 7.62

I'm looking at getting a Nikon scope M-308 4x16x42 for my Mossburg MVP 7.62. I'm not looking to shoot out more than 800. I have my AR15. Now just need something for precision. Any feedback would be great

Nikon's M-308 will absolutely get you to 800 yards. I have put 1000's of rounds under my 3 M-308's bolt and AR style. Zero issues at all. I routinely use them at some of the Nikon PR Shooting Event's I help out with. I am always amazed watching guys reactions when thy hit a soda can at 500 yards using Nikon's BDC reticle and an even better reaction when they blow up a 4 inch jar of Tannerite at 600 yards! Drop me a note with any question's.

Do they make the 20 moa base for the m308 like they do for the m223, and are you using it? What are your thoughts on if it would be helpful to someone who will "only" be shooting out to 500 yards or so?

          M-308

Nikon's M-308 AR Mount DOES have 20 MOA built into it. Helps you reach out to 800 yards with the BDC/ Rapid Action Turret scopes.
I like this scope so much I put one on my Rem. 700 .308 Bolt rifle too.

Always a good idea to question a company that pimps their products at the drop of any hat....

Id skip the PA line, and get a NikonVVortex or better yet, an SWFA something or other.

That is great looking! I can't wait to hear how it shoots for you.
I have heard nothing but great things about M1A's and accuracy.

Mine can group 4" at 600 yards. This is roughly .75 MOA. National Match features enhance an already great gun.

I'm getting a Nikon M 4-16 for an AR-15. Do I need the 20 moa drop my if I plan on shooting 300 yards maximum? Also, I was considering the Nikoplex instead of the BDC, since it will just be for targets.

The 4-16 will work swell for you. If you buy the Rapid Action Turret model with the plex reticle you'll shoot great at known distances.

Guapho is correct. Remember that the Rapid Action Turret is built around the shooter using a 55 gr. bullet at 3240 fps. Anything else will change your point of impact. Luckily there are a lot of ammo choices with those numbers. I also like the BDC just because it does let me use whatever ammo I choose and dial it in using Nikon's Spot On Ballistic Program for the greatest possible long range accuracy. If 300 yards is going to be your max distance you might want to take a look at the M-223 3-12, great scope and you'll save some $.

As a guy who owns no scopes for my ARs/rifles, going to look into this for my SCAR17 as alternate to ACOG that is on there when want to be more precise.

I can assure you it will work great ad wring all the accuray possible out of your SCAR. Only 11 more days left on the Promo for the M-308 so don't wait to long.
