    Scope for 7mm magnum

Time to replace the 40 years old Weaver 3-9 on my rifle. I would like something with a bit more magnification and a first focal plane and not wanting to break the bank. So, any ideas on something that will handle the abuse of the 7mm mag? Just as long as the reticle and the adjustments are the same(moa or mil)
    Thanks

The ProStaff 5 3.5-14 with bdc should work
Custom Ballistic Drop Compensators. Since 2002 we have been dedicated to precision. We offer the best ballistic drop compensators on the market.

Get it with the XR Turret and Kenton will give you one of theirs so you have 2 custom turrets

    Best deal I have found

Is that ProStaff a FFP scope?

OP... I assume this is a hunting rifle? Is size/weight an issue? How will you be using it?

Do you have an idea of the type of magnification range you want? What about 50mm objectives or are you trying to keep it a bit more compact?

      2.5-10x32
      3-15x42
      4-16x44
      4-16x50

You can get some bigger stuff but the size weight jumps up considerably once you start looking at 5-20x50 and 6-24x50 type of scopes.

Keeping affordability in mind, you may want to check out swfa ss scopes or vortex viper pst scopes. These are some of the only scopes that come to my mind that fit your criteria at reasonable costs. Still offering what should still be really good quality.
So um... moon labia or something.

Spoke to Primary Arms and they suggested the Vortex PST. But, the price! I have used the gun for elk and deer. But, i'm older now and kinda wanted to play around and see just how far out I could get. Thought I would max the magnification out at 14 or 16. With the ole Weaver, it was cross hairs plus some instinct and Kentucky windage. Now, you need to a degree in physics. LOL. Fun learning.
          Thanks guys for the input.

My 7mm Rem Mag is topped by Swarovski Z3 4-12x50 with CBT. I'd recommend it again.

For a budget under the price of the PST scopes, I'd look into the SWFA 3-15X42:

              Burris Veracity 4-20X50:

Or if you're really on a budget, the 4-14X44 BSA Tactical from Midway USA:

The BSA typically goes on sale pretty often for $249.99, so I'd wait until then if you go that route.

I've used the BSA on my 300 Win Mag as a temporary optic until I can find something more suitable, but to tell the truth it's actually holding up pretty well. It has about 300 round of the Win Mag under it's belt and has not self destructed yet. Glass is decent and the adjustments seem accurate for the amount of dialing I have done with it. I find it easier to use the MRAD reticle for holding rather than dialing in though, so the turrets (which are a bit mushy) don't see much use.
