Scope hits mount. Am I missing something?

I tried mounting a falcon 4-14x44 to a GG&G accucam and there is interference. Is there a solution? Did I make a mistake purchasing this combination, or is this unforseeable? The part that hits is this tamper proof screw that comes out at an angle on the bottom.

Yep, since the mount has integral rings that combination won't work. You need taller rings.

How was I supposed to know? You would think that the scope manufacturer would tell you the minimum ring height.

A suggested minium ring height wouldn't have helped any since you are not using a standard base and ring combo. It is the mount causing the problem because it has material in an area that there usually isn't on a standard base and rings

Which accucam mount is it? Looks like the low to me but it is hard to tell. If it is the low you can get the taller AR mount or modify the mount you have.

How much is the scope being held off the ring area by the protrusion on the bottom?
You could relieve the mount and touch up the area. Five minutes in a mill could clear the problem area on the mount then touch it up with some birchwood casey alumablack solution or a dab of paint like alumahyde.

Not the best route because it would mean you couldn't move the scope in the mount if you wanted to and it would hurt the resale value of the mount, but it would work if you really like that mount (depending on how much the scope is being held up).

I had something like this happen, I bought a Savage 10FLP with the accutrigger, round rear receiver. the bases I got had a flat rear, so now i have a 25$ pair of bases i dont need. went with Burris bases cheaper.

Try turning the mount 180 degrees so the lever is on the right. If it will clear the windage knob you're GTG.

Is this for an AR type rifle? If so, they DO make one specifically for them.

Look like you got the lower mount. For that scope to feet you will need to use an AR GG&G mount. But if it is not going on an AR then it will be too high.

It is going on an SL8. The mount height I have now is about right. I think it might be too high with the AR height. Maybe I will just get regular scope rings with hand tighten knobs. I want to be able to remove the scope so that the rifle will fit in the safe.

Wait, if you're mounting it on a SL8, can't you just turn it around? Does it fit that way?

If not, switch to a different maker (LaRue, ADM, NF...)
