    Matech 600m BUIS

Does anyone know where I can find instructions for zeroing one of these sights? The world appears to have changed a bit since the last time I did a battle sight zero.

I could also use a local source for battle sight zero targets.

Someone might have their instructions handy, but I'd suggest the following:

Adjust the Matech to 200m and shoot at 50m to POA, adjusting the windage and the front sight post.

Keep in mind that all AR BUIS aren't match sights.

In a previous life, zeroing an M16/AR was 25/175 IIRC. The matech implies the ranges have changed to something like 25/333-ish. In any case, I'm planning to reload both 55 and 62 grain bullets so I'd like to get my hands on a copy of the documentation for the sight.

        Zeroing Instructions:

To zero the M4/M4A1 Carbine, turn the range knob intil the line on the sight cam on the left side is aligned with the 300 meter mark. Use the 25-meter zero target for the M4 Carbine and center your rounds by adjusting the weapon front sight post and the BUIS windage adjustment knob.

To zero the M16A4 Rifle, turn the range knob intil the line on the sight cam on the left side is aligned with the white line between the 300 and the 400 meter marks. This mark is the half notch location, so it's more difficult to align. Use the 25-meter zero target for the M16A2/M16A4 Rifle and center your rounds by adjusting the weapon front sight post and the BUIS windage adjustment knob.

TYVM, This gives me exactly what I need. A little math and I'll be able to miss convincingly out to 500 yards or so.

You'll probably need to adjust your holdovers for each range.

Remember, these are meant to make center of mass hits, not groupings.

                I bought M4 with A.R.M.S 40-L rear sight
but, i don't know how to sight-in this
Anyone know how to sight in .

I also have Colt AR-15 with A2 sight.
which rear sight is better A2 or, ARMS 40-L.

I like A2 sight because it has a Elevation Dial.

For the 40-L, I'd suggest the IBZ.

So, after this, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 are "zero-ed"???? How accurate are these? Anyone got more documented info about this??

We use the matech as a standard rear sight for marksmanship qualification in the Marine Corps.

On an m16a4 spec upper, shooting m855 (62 gr, green tip), zeroing the rifle in at 25 yards on that white hash between 300 and 400 makes it good to go for every other setting. Shoot at 200? just rotate it to 200, 300 to 300, etc etc. No need for compensating, it'll be dead on with the right upper and load.

It's a good sight. No complaints here.

If you zero at a mil spec 25m target at 25m.... when set between 300 and 400... you will hit the upper torso at 100yd/m without any adjustments. If you want to be more precise on your shots only at 100 then rotate the knob to 100. Hope that helps.

You could always do some experimenting on this as well. Zero your rifle with the matech set on 100 and target being at 100yds. Then see how much rise you get when you switch to 200,300, etc etc. I've never done that before but maybe someone else has and can chime in.
