    Scope help 1"

Go poke around at a good retail website like Primary Arms, to name just one of many. I found offerings in that price range from Bushnell, Vortex and the house brand after about 60 seconds of looking.

One-inch tubes are prevalent in that price/magnification category, so that limitation shouldn't hamper you at all.

Leupold vx2 or vx hog. both are great scopes in that price range. I have both and they are quite similar.
The hog is a little cheaper but I see no difference in usability. I have the VX2 on a 375h&h and the Hog is doing duty on my M1A - both have no issues whatsoever.

Biggest issue is the 1" tube. So the search is proving difficult.

Turns out that I have a 30mm mount so this should make things more easy.

Under $200 I would suggest looking into the BSA Tactical 1-6X24 from Midway USA. It's a lot of scope for $149.00, and from a mechanical and optical standpoint is definitely well above most other scopes that BSA sells. I've run one for a little over a year now with no issues. It holds zero well, responds well to adjustments and has pretty decent glass and a decent reticle design.

I bought a Mueller Speed Shot 1-4x red dot scope last Sep, so far I like it. Held zero ok after a few range trips and sits on my Windham Weaponry AR-15.

There is only 1 odd downside to this scope, when new from factory, the power knob is VERY tight. Not sure why they make it so tight but after using it a few times, it seems to have loosen up a little, still a little too tight for my taste.

The optic itself is pretty good for $229.95 on Amazon.com.

I would go with the Primary Arms. Picked one up for an AR that I used to own, it was a nice scope.

I had been on a similar scope hunt for a while. Looked at Leopold (my preferred band, Vortex, Primary Arms, Bushnells, and some other brands. After much debate I went with the 1-4 30mm Bushnell. Lots of good reviews the display I handled felt week put together (not like the illuminated model with the "throw lever") and I find it on sale for $112 on amazon when I ordered today.

Is there a reason why you didn't get the illuminated reticle?

Yes, when I handled the display with the illuminated reticle and the throw lever magnification adjustment it was very "gritty" and cumbersome IMO. Decided to go with the simpler model.
