Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x42 or Weaver Classiv V16 4-16x42 for 17 Fireball?

I'm looking for a scope for my Rem 700 in 17 Fireball. I'll be using the gun for various varmints (ground squirrels, rock chucks, prairie dogs, etc.), some coyotes, and target shooting. I'm considering the Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x42 and the Weaver V16 4-16x42. Both have adjustable objectives, which I want, but I don't have any experience with either. The Burris has a $100 rebate if I buy this month, and Natchez has the Weaver for around $220, so the price would be roughly the same. Any recommendations between these two scopes, or is there another in the same power and price range (and AO or side focus) that I should consider? Thanks!

There are alot of scopes out there and 4 to 16X is pretty popular. SWFA is a good source, Midway publishes customer reviews and that can be helpful. Just need to be careful reading them because the info is subjective.

Of the two you've mentioned I think the Burris is clearer, however Nikon and Leupold should be considered too. I'd say also be careful with respect to the reticle. If you're shooting small animals at long distance a thick reticle isn't best. I've recently bought a Burris Fullfield in 6.5 to 20X and the Weaver, IIRC both reticles were too thick for my taste, the Weaver especially.

SWFA has a "samples" list of trade ins, refurbished. Similar to Natchez, can get some good deals.
