Librarian, that's a good idea. Scopes are extremely difficult to shop for because it's hard to find good scopes at your LGS. Further, there is a lot of horrible disinformation and a proliferation of sub-par crap on the market that folks get burned with.

I'd start with the very top sticky on this forum. Some is opinion, but there's a lot of fact.

Just remember, if anyone tells you anything other than 1 milliradian is something other than 3.600001" at 100 yards, he doesn't know beans about scopes. This follows from the fact that tan(1/1000)=0.00100000033, and there are 3600" in 100 yards, so it's tan(1/1000)*3600"=3.6000".
