Also, Trijicon will replace your tritium when it wears out and if it passes their "dimness" test, at no cost if you're the original owner.
Tritium has a half life of 25+ years. At about 10-12 years (depending upon the color), it's too dim to use. Trijicon warranties the tritium for 10 to 12 years, again depending upon the color.

If the tritium is dimmer than it should be for its age, Trijicon will replace it at a pro-rated cost. In other words, if it's as bright at 8 years as it should be at 10, then they'll replace it at a cost, but reduce that cost by the two years of "lost" brightness.

They don't just replace the tritium. They replace the whole reticle. This is something that will have to be done at 10-12 years on any Trijicon tritium-illuminated optic. The cost to replace a standard ACOG reticle is $570.

Cost of batteries vs ammo for re-zeroing, shipping, and insurance...I'm betting cr-123 is cheaper over 10 years. 19 years isn't a reasonable interval between replacing tritium, even not counting cost of tritium replacement.

2,000 hours per battery. If you use it 10 hours a day, that's 18 batteries in 10 years. At $2 per battery, that's $36. How many of us would use the optic 10 hours a day 365 days s year? Shipping+insurance+ammo to re-zero will be a bigger cost.

I don't imagine myself shooting in low light conditions with my Acog, its not like we are fighting a war, clearing houses or patrolling boarders...plus, you should have more than one rifle! low light conditions? QCB? bust out the carbine with the red dot!

Isn't this conversation somewhat moot since the introduction of the TA02?

I can dial the brightness up and down on a whim.

Don't forget if it runs out of battery you can use an external power source via USB port. Those 2300 mah emergency phone batteries can work.

Anyone with a 4x32 acog want to help me do a comparison? I should be getting my hands on a browe 4x32 in a week.

                      What's that entail?

I was thinking of doing a table top side by side comparison. Maybe get some range time, but I live in Buena Park and a range that can test these optics to their max is a bit far for me.

I have a ta11 I was thinking of using. But the comparison Wouldn't be really a acog 4x32 vs BCO 4x32.

Or if someone is good at doing reviews I don't mind meeting up with you to do one. Maybe we can meet up at field time range (kind of limited, 25 yards)and Do some shooting with it. And then use their tables to do a review on both

Not only that, but realistically, the only fair comparison would be against an LED ACOG with the same reticle as the Browe.

I have the LED ACOG, but I'm in NorCal.
