    What Optic to Pick

I just got ok'd from the misses to spend up to $450 on a good optic for my new build. it will be going on a 14.7" 6.8 SPC upper. On my other rifles I have a Vortex Strikefire, Primary Arms Micro red dot and a Primary Arms 1x4 scope.
For this upper I am looking for opinions, I am leaning toward an Aimpoint Pro or a Trijicon Reflex RX-30. I want some opinions, this sight will be mainly used for range, hopefully a carbine class in the near future. I want a good known reliable optic. Other options are welcome, just not the biggest fan of Eotech's. Thanks

    You want the Aimpoint Pro.

I agree. Based on your criteria and price point, if you don't like EOTechs, with a $450 budget, that Aimpoint is the best you'll do.

The only time I take my rifle out of my safe is to impress my friends. I bought a clone on eBay and it collects dust just as good if not better than an Aimpoint.

Also consider the Voterx Sparc II. Its close to the Aimpoint Micro H1/T1 is size, has a similar optical axis height above the rail.

I prefer the rotary dial on the Aimpoint vs the push buttons on the Vortex, and the Aimpoints have the advantage in dot brightness and battery life. I own both, and have to say if you want to save some money, the Vortex is not a bad alternative.

I looked at the options I have. I am not against going with a Vortex Sparc or other less expensive optic. I even looked at one of the new Primary Arms 2.5 magnified prism scope as an option. I just like the idea of atleast one good well known proven optic.

New to the forum but an occasional visitor to Coronado and a trigger puller anytime I can get on a gun a gun there....or anywhere else for that matter. I work in the shooting industry and have used many different optics including one mentioned in this thread and have several different versions, all good. You may want to look at the Meprolight RDS. With the Black Friday sale, you can pick it up for around $280 from The Mako Group. Although I don't work directly for them, I am associated with them.
