    No frills small frame Eotech

Alright so I'm in the market for an optic for my pistol. I'm an AimPoint guy, so for this one I figured why not go Eotech and have fun and play with a different optic.

Being it's a fun gun and my back up, back up, back up, back up HD gun.

I'm looking at getting a Eotech small body sight. Like the Model EXPS3. I know they have the EXPS3 obviously, but notice it's pricier than the rest.

What Eotech model has the circular sight, lowest no frills price range with the small body?

Again I want a legit eotech but don't need NV capability, laser sight, zombie edition, extra bacon compartments. Just the most basic small frame Eotech model.

What model Eotech should I look at?

Also not interested in knock offs. I want a legit Eotech for esthetics and durability

Body style I'm looking for. Again small framed optic.

Black or tan doesn't matter. Also if you know if any vendors selling legit ones for a good price right now or in the future that would be great too.

The EXPS2 is cheaper than the EXPS3 because it doesn't have NV capability. Aside from that, they're pretty much identical. If you wait for an Optics Planet coupon, you can snag one for a good discount.

An EoTech EXPS3 for a pistol? Are you kidding, or do you have a Desert Eagle?

I have both the Aimpoint H1/T1 Micro and an Eotech EXPS3. Tried both on my Deagle 44 mag and the EoTech is monstrous, and it adds a ton of weight. Plus, it is about double the width of most handguns and sticks way out side to side. For rifles/carbines only IMHO.

I have mounted an H1 Micro on the Deagle and its perfect, even though I prefer the reticule on the EoTech. But the low mass of the Aimpoint wins out.

Another sight to look into for pistols is the Trigicon reflex type (not the ACOG) or the Japanese made Ultra-Dot PAN-AV. The Ultra Dot is about half the price of the Trigicon/Aimpoint/EoTech, but still high quality, and weight is reasonable. It also has a nice selection of bright reticules, including EoTech style circle/dot/hashmarks.

Is this going on an AR pistol or a regular pistol?

I tried an Eotech on a Browning Buckmark and it really was a massive optic to put on a regular pistol. On an AR pistol, its just about perfect.

Anything in the XPS2 or EXPS2 family would fit your needs. Its pretty much the same unit but one has a QD riser. Some have rear controls and some have side controls. Just preference at that point.

And ill just leave this here...

This one looks to be a EXP3-2. I have the EXP3-3. Like others have said Eotech's are way too big for a regular handgun. If your talking about using it on a AR or other rifle based pistol then I think it could work.

Wow, that guy must really operate.

Seriously, though, I bet it cuts down on the recoil...

If you're running irons on your AR pistol, consider whether you want an absolute co-witness or a lower 1/3 co-witness. The XPS provides for an absolute co-witness, while the EXPS provides a lower 1/3 co-witness.

                      EXPS2-0:

                      XPS2-0:

The XPS and EXPS have a transverse-mounted CR123A cell, and is shorter than the 512.

Personally, if you don't own/need night vision, I like (and own) an EOTech 512, because you can find AA batteries in the middle of the night at a gas station in Resume Speed, Iowa. If weight is a consideration, lithium AA's shave off a bit of weight.

The reticle you are speaking of is the A65 reticle, with a single dot and the 65-MOA outer ring.

I really love the EOtech reticule.

Now if you're tired of the standard EOTech reticles, don't forget we do custom holographic aftermarket reticle design and manufacture. Here's our most popular drop-in reticle, the A65 / 00 Buck reticle:
