Samson RAM Mount for Aimpoint T1 issue

Just a heads up for anyone who is in the market for an Aimpoint Micro mount.

I bought one of the new Primary Arms red dot sights with 50k hr battery life, and opted for the Samson RAM T1 QD mount. I have a RAM flip to side QD magnifier mount that works great.

    Here's the problem:
The absolute co-witness mount is not absolute co-witness!
I have attached a photo (not sure why it turned sideways when uploaded) of my Magpul MBUS sight picture though the red dot, and it is clear the point of aim is not centered in the optic. Primary arms was quick to remedy the situation, but I wanted to point that out for anyone who might be interested.

To be clear, I did in fact order and receive the RAM-T1-M4 Perfect Co-witness mount. Primary arms was so kind as to send a replacement when I brought up the issue, so I have two, and they are the same. For another angle, I set them both up on my carbine, in front of a TRS-25 with a UTG absolute co-witness mount. See the 2nd picture.

I have not called Samson yet, but am planning on it. I will update if and when.

Primary Arms is sending my a BOBRO mount at a discount as a final solution. If you don't know already, PA is a great company to do business with.

ok. its a bit of a lengthy explanation, but I will try to sum it up.

the absolute co-witness mount is supposed to line up the T1 red dot with a magnifier not the back up sights. since the t1 has a smaller lens than the comp series, they had to raise it up, and it looks like lower 1/3rd with backup irons. They have what they call their HK height mount, which will co-witness a T1 with back up sights.

Did you find that the screws to mount the optic were too long?

The M3 lock washers from Home Depot work perfectly to take up the extra length. 1 per screw.

I did not. It mounted just fine, albeit a little high for my taste.

I have since mounted the Red Dot on an absolute co-witness BOBRO mount, and am pleased with the results. I wish SAMSON would do a better job of explaining their mounts, because they are nice mounts, and I love my flip to side magnifier mount.

I mounted an H-1 on there and it would wiggle. I tightened it until I felt the next turn would pull the treads on the aimpoint, but it would still move. Then after measuring the thread depth on the optic and screw length, I found my problem.

I agree on the marketing issue. Unfortunatly, during my research on mounts, this was never mentioned...in what few post I did find about them.

If I recall, I used the screws that came with the Primary Arms red dot, not the Samson mount, and they were very short.
