    M&P 10

Anyone have an opinion on scopes for an M&P10? Would like to get out to a 1000 yds. Budget is under $1000.00

I just decided on a vortex viper pst 2.5x10 for my jailed Sig 716. Ordered a Larue mount that it will ride in.

Lots of options there. Depends on if that budget is just for glass or glass+mount, and how nice of a mount you want.

PA 4-14x ACSS HUD or Mildot. The ACSS HUD is ballistically calibrated for 7.62x51 NATO, so BDC should be spot on or damn close for your rifle. Glass is good, though not stellar (say, just a hair below Trijicon glass). That leaves plenty of $ for a good mount (ADM, Bobro, GG&G, etc...) I went with 20 MOA ADM mount and ACSS HUD for $420. That leaves over $500 for practice ammo or reloading components.

If you are willing to go closer to your budget limit, there are LOTS of good options with somewhat better glass, though I don't think you'll find a BDC/ranging reticle anywhere near as good, even at the higher end of your budget. LOTS of options at your price point.

Be sure to get a mount with 20 moa built into it. The 70 moa of internal adjustment on that Bushnell will have you running out of elevation adjustment before you get to 1000 yards on a 0 moa base. American Defense makes a version of the Recon mount in 30mm that has 20 moa built in.

I have that mount. I like it a lot. I only wish they offered an extended cantilever version in 20 MOA (my scope needs it, since I don't like to shoot chin-to-shoulder).

Thanks! Guess I will have to get another mount, since I already ordered one. These are adjustable mounts, correct? 0-20 or fixed 20 MOA?

Fixed 20 moa. The idea behind them is to give you scope a bit more room in elevation adjustment by canting it downwards. You'll eat up some of the downward elevation to reach zero at 100 yards, but it will give you that amount back in upwards travel. With a 20 moa base, the scopes 70 moa if internal adjustment will behave like a scope with 110 moa would if mounted in a 0 moa base.
