A new aimpoint?

So, basically a PRO with inferior battery life, an inferior mount and no lens covers for probably not a whole lot cheaper. So far I'm passing. -

it's a little different:

I don't get it. The PRO was a decent value, maintaining a decent feature set for it's asking price. This just seems... pointless. I guess the $393 MSRP means it'll be quite a bit cheaper, but a PRO is just over $400 with 3x the battery life.Comment

I got a PRO from PSA for $368 shipped. There's no way I'd be buying one of these. The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. right but these will MSRP for about that... retail will most likely be in the mid $200's.

If these could be had for around $250 it would be worth it. You still get a mount with it like the PRO and 10k hours is still a damn good battery life.right but these will MSRP for about that... retail will most likely be in the mid $200's.

That would be a horrible marketing idea coming from such a large company or any company for that matter. After selling PRO's at that price for this long rasing the cost for the exact same product would lose them a lot of business IMO. They just need to price this new optic accordingly which should be $100 or more less than the PRO.The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. It wouldn't be the first time an optic's price has gone up in value.
And so, AimPoint's corporate strategy emerges. Minor improvements to their top line units like the T1 and repackage existing sights and tag a 3 letter model number to it. Next up will be their ML2 repackaged as the Civilian Militia Optic.Comment

It looks like a decent (simpler) design if the price is right but the 10K hr. battery life is curious. Would it have been that much more costly to match the Pro in that feature?
