Nothing wrong with a Revenge, for a good, basic hunting scope. Midway's been doing clearances on those for a while now. Apparently everyone wants the made-in-USA Revolutions. Those almost never go on sale, unfortunately.

I picked up a 3-9x40 Revenge sabot/muzzleloader edition on sale from Midway for a good price. At max power, there's just a bit of blurriness, but back it down to 8.5x, and it clears right up at 300 yards. For the price, they're actually not bad.

I got my email and immediately went online.
My 3-9x 42mm is on a truck somewhere in the MidWest.

(I ended up having to call them because their site told me it could not fulfill my order because the items were "available".)

Redfield is great value in the scope game right now. I especially like their 2-7's.

            5 shots @ 100yds on a VERY good day.

            Usually my groups are larger

I am actually looking for more magnification and a finer reticle, but that's because I'm aging and have an astigmatism.

I bought the 4-12x42 hunter reticle a while ago... excited to try it out!

For my eyes, the 12x magnification just doesn't provide enough of an exit pupil to be able to easily see stuff through the scope, unless it's a 50mm objective. For 40mm, the 9x setting is about it. Must be gettin' older....
