    keep my scope? ar15 6.8spc

Hey guys. . I'm planning a pig hunting trip with bigboarstopper. I have a brand new Redfield revenge rifle scope 3x9x52 with accu-ranger-hunter reticle. I had the scope before the AR, and my plan was to use it on a bolt action rifle. .. which I don't have yet.
First off, I think the scope is over kill for the AR. Plus, to get good eye relief, I have to mount it way back, and it gets to close to the charging handle. .. making it difficult to chamber a round. ..
I'm not sure yet if I want to keep the 6.8 Plat form. . & I'm a bit unsure if I want to buy another scope for it. For the timebeing, If I do buy another scope for it, it'll be under $100 for sure...
Now, for my intended use of this rifle in the near future, pig, do you guys recommend I just use what I have, the redfield, or buy something more suitable for the AR such as this

. My worries is the fov will not be good up close with the REDFIELD...
    what would you guys do?
    Thanks!

I am using a 1-4x MTAC on my pig rifle 16" 6.8spc. It is nice for quick acquisition of targets. The illuminated reticle helps in darker terrain. I have taken most of my pigs at early morning or late evening hours and many hunt them at night (which I have not done).
For these reasons I like the illuminated reticle.

Unless you are punching paper, the 3-9 is probably a little much for the round. The 6.8 is more of a sub 300yd round for hunting and best under 200yds. Further, it isn't like pig are plains game so you will usually be much closer than that. Your bigger worry would be up close and personal and for that, either irons, or low magnification is going to work out better.

Irons are much lighter, so that may be a factor, but even still, I don't find any of my ARs to be too heavy, and I have some HBAR 20"s with higher magnification full-size scopes that get up there a bit in weight.

      Good luck!

PS Regarding the scope you linked in your post - I haven't even seen it, but suffice it to say, you get what you pay for.

I would suggest something more along these lines

It doesn't have an illuminated reticle, but it is a loopy and has pretty nice glass, is light, and low magnification.
