Do I need to replace my quad rail?

I bought a DDM4v1 https://danieldefense.com/firearms/d...arbine-v1.html as sort of an impulse buy, and while the gun itself is phenomenal, I am hating the aesthetic look of that front iron sight. I want to remove it and replace it with just a short rail to cover that block that's missing. Or is there no such part and I would have to replace the whole thing?

You could remove the front sight/gas block assembly and replace it with a receiver height railed gas block like this:

I don't know if it would fully fill the gap but it would remove the front sight and not leave a hole.

i think that rail looks kind of funny kind of like the last hold out on a construction project that refuses to sell

If you really want to replace it, why not just get a low profile gas block from DD and stick a tube on it.

I like the M4V1 the way is comes. It was my first AR 8 or so years ago and shot the daylights out of it till I wanted something lighter. Then I bought a V7LW!
