    Burris Veracity 2-10x any good?

I'm having a hard time finding any info on the Burris Veracity scopes, particularly the 2-10x one.
I saw one source that said Burris uses the same glass in the Veracity as in the XRTIIs but I haven't seen any verification of this.

Anyone have or try one of these yet?

      Kestryll -

I just ordered one in the 3x15x50, it has already shipped. I hope that it is as good as I think it is. I'll let you know once it's all set up and dialed in.

By the way, the least expensive that I found it was at thedigitaloasis.com and close behind was savinglots.com. ebay also has a few decent prices, but not beating the above.

Burris being a part of beretta defense group had really proved to be a good move for them. Being tied into Steiner changes the game for Burris now that they have access to some great optical designers. The past 4-5 years we have seen the optical quality of the Burris product grow by leaps and bounds.

Wouldn't hesitate getting anything from them. We sell a ton of their product and it's very rare that we see anything come back because the customer wasn't satisfied.

Still waiting for the scope, supposed to be here tomorrow. I won't be able to try it out until the weekend anyway, but I'll keep you posted on it's goods/bads.

Received the scope late yesterday afternoon. Unboxed and checked it out. It looks great, good fit and finish and the reticule is way better in person than on the website. Glass is crystal clear.

I was able to do the 'center procedure' last night by setting up a mock mount, it is perfectly centered, which is encouraging.

Should be able to mount it tonight, but still not able to shoot it until this weekend if then....I'm hopeful though.

By the way, here is a link to mounting and setting up a scope. It is well written and easy to follow and is what I am using to set this scope up on an air rifle, but it also applies to a powder burner. There's more to this that meets the eye....pun intended!

Okay, I was finally able to mount the Veracity to my airgun this morning and take it for a spin.

Mounting was easy enough, no problems. The scope has great clarity and is brighter than most that I have had experience with anyway. The reticule is awesome, not too busy inside the scope, yet allows for easy calculated hold over at various distances.

Adjustments were easy, no coin use, just hunter turrets that are not ginormous, and do not stick way up like the target turrets. Although they do have the gradient points on them that are easily readable. You can reset to zero.

Only real issue that I have with them being mounted to an airgun, is that the focus does not go down to 10-15 yards, it stops at 50 yards. While this is not a deal breaker, it would be nice to focus down further than 50 yards. Putting the power at 7, I was able to focus well enough to see all of my hits at 30 yards. Did not check out if it would still be okay at a lower power setting for closer range, next time.

I did not have a chance to try out the first focal plane operation yet either, but will get around to it next range trip too.

              This is the 3 x 15 x 50 Model by the way, not the 2 x 10 one.
