If there's one thing that I like in my scopes, it's a large field of view. Is there anything in the sub $200 range with a relatively large FOV?
My favorite scope thus far was my Leupold VX1 3-9. The FOV on that scope is exactly what I am talking about (for those of you who own one, you know what I am talking about). I have since sold the Leupold, but will purchase another one if it is the only scope with that large a FOV.
I am hoping for something with a slightly higher magnification (4-16 for example).
The scope will be sitting atop an AR15 (.223)
I am considering the following:
Leupold VX1 3-9 ($175)
Nikon P223 BDC 600 3-9 ($170)
Vortex Crossfire II 4-12 ($150)
Vortex Diamondback 4-12 ($185)
Should I just purchase another Leupold? How is the FOV on the P223's? I had the chance to look through another Nikon, not sure which though...but I was not impressed.
Another question; how do you all feel about air gun rated scopes on .223 rifles? I have an old Gamo scope; clarity is subpar compared to the Leupold (it's clear enough for me though) but the field of view is phenomenal for such an inexpensive scope.
