    Scoping a Ruger American Rimfire...

Been doing some poking around. I'm really liking this Game Reaper ring set-up even though it's on the pricey side:

Our Ruger scope mounts are precision machined to fit Ruger 10/22, Ruger American (centerfire), and Ruger American Rimfire. Visit our website to know more.

And I've got the scopes narrowed down to two:

    Thoughts or suggestions?*

*I've already decided against the perennial favorite 'Mueller APV AO' or any other AO scope because I don't like reaching out to the front of the scope to focus/adjust parallax.
Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...

Strictly from a warranty standpoint, Vortex. It's like herpes, it's yours forever. You break it, it falls, manufacturer defect, act of Mother Nature, no problem, Vortex will fix or replace it.

Agreed. The Vortex unconditional warranty is indeed hard to beat. Nikon won't cover abuse, misuse or neglect. However, I also already own a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40, so I know I like the platform.

I have two of the Vortex 6.5-20 (one 44 and the other 50 mm) which replaced two Leupold varix3. I haven't compared either of your choices, it will come down to you looking through the scopes and determining which looks better to you. I wouldn't hesitate to buy either, but I would give Vortex the edge just because I would have a scope pretty much forever, where they would send a pre-paid label if warranty or replacement is needed.

Picked up a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 BDC from Turners for $149.98 plus tax when the Fall catalog came out.

Here is pg 15 of the catalog Turners 2014 Fall Catalog pg15

I'd call around to see which Turners still have it in stock. Can't beat it at the price with the Vortex warranty. Last day for this price is Sept 18th.
