Sightmark 14000?

I have been looking for an "Eotech like" sight for some time. I have a Primary Arms MD-06. I love the sight, and it is probably the best sight in its price range...at least from the ones I have tried. However, the size of the window on sights like the Eotechs and SM14000 is appealing. I've shot using an Eotech before and promised myself I would purchase one, eventually. However, I don't see myself paying $300-$400 on a sight any time soon, at least not until graduation and a new, higher paying job.

I've heard and read both good and bad things about the SM14000. It tends to get low reviews on most sites. However, I'd like to hear from those who own one, here on Calguns. How do you guys like them? Do they make for a decent eotech alternative? Can you recommend a similar style site (square, larger window as opposed to a round, smaller window) in the sub $150 range?

Never looked through one of those.

I did buy their 2.5 x 10 scope, took it out and looked through it and put it right back in its box and returned it. It had such a horrible eye box and was not clear at all.

Not sure i would give them another chance, but that is just me.

Thanks for the input Chad. I heard that their optics were sub-par. For some reason, their "holographic" (reflex) sight looks decent. Many youtubers actually like it. I may end up biting the bullet.

I just recently got one in a trade. I have handled it a bit but haven't put it through the paces.

Initial thoughts are that it is heavy and so far seems like a quality optic. The picture is crisp and the glass is clear.

Only bad reviews I've read are that people have gotten lemons and they sent them back and the replacements they've been happy with.

I actually received mine a week ago. Took it out to the range the next day, but was not impressed. It stood up to 5 shots, then started shutting off randomly. Every shot or two would turn it off. I took it home and swapped out the batteries. I'll try it out next time I go to the range. I did attach it to an Airgun, which is survived. Slapped it a few times to see if it would turn off, but it stayed on.

I have their triple duty 8.5-25 version and while not being a Swaro by any means it is at least as clear as my Millet TRS-1 and that scope generally isn't considered being junk. Not questioning your words here, just giving a different perspective although it still has lil to do with the OP's original question.
