    Eotech sighting in question

I recently purchased an Eotech sight. It is mounted on the LARUE mount. I have also ordered the aimpoint 3X magnifier (still waiting for) I also purchased the flip mount from LARUE for the magnifier. This means I can switch from 3X with eotech and or just plain eotech with no zoom. Now, when we go out shooting, in the desert, its rare for me to shoot over 50 yards. I wanted to sight my eotech at a 100 yards, because I will have the optional 3X behind it. My question is, will my rifle shoot high at 25,50,75 yards? What do you guys recommend? Whats a good overall distant to sight in an eotech?

The improved battlesight zero seems to be a good, all around zero. Zeroing at 50 yards gives you more or less the same zero at 200 yards.

My buddy and I recently went shooting and he shot corrosive yugo ammo through his Mosin and figured he could just piss in the barrel and call it a day. Several days later the bolt was rusted shut but I guess the fouling wasnt TOO bad.

Is the EOTech going on an AR? If so, and only for comparison, my work ARs with 16" barrels have the EOTs....using 69gr Federal Tactical.

We sight in at 50 yds for a 50/250 zero.

At 25 yds, we aim 1.5" high for POI. Inside of 10 yds, we aim 2-2.5" high for POI. At 100 yds, aim 1" low for desired POI.

That should cover your desert distances, as it covers ours for urban contacts.
        YMMV, good luck experimenting!

Using it on M4 flat top reciever. I generally fire 55 grain. Do you have any numbers for that?

Nope, but we use the 66 gr for training rounds and it's not that different. 50/250 is a great starting point for you to experiment on the 55s
