Some questions if you all have a moment.
And because people often ask, what's the rifle used for? I'd like to do more service rifle style competition, not to be a serious competitor, but do learn to do things the way they do it.
I have my eye on the YHM flip up front sight gas block (http://yhm.net/front-flip-sight-towe...ng-swivel.html). They come in three flavors, the one here, and as the link text would suggest, also with a sling swivel, or a bayonet lug, or both.
Yea or Nea to that? I plan to also interchange a scope on this rifle unless I can get good enough with a sling to not need one. One goal of this is to keep the rifle lightweight and handy as a possible hunting option. Do people still hunt with irons?
As for my carry handle, Aim Surplus has the Spikes for around $60, or you can go with Armalite, RRA or White Oak who all have national match 1/4 MOA adjustables. Those all run in the ~$200 range.
Now I'm not opposed to a buy-once-cry-once type of thing, but if any of you guys are competetive shooters, I need some help: are those national match sights worth 3x the cost? Or is that a place you can save a buck and it doesn't make much difference unless you are at Camp Perry level?
