    Primary Arms reflex sight

There's not a whole lot of info out on it as far as user reviews.
Has anyone here used it? I know the great majority of PA glass is great, so I assume that it is just as good. But could it hold up to being mounted on the slide of a pistol, or stuck on a 5.56 or 308?

        Primary Arms reflex sight

It holds up to 12 gauge 3" mag! So .223/.308 is not going to be a problem.

              Dmitri,

I am thinking about getting one of these to go along with the ACSS HUD. I really don't like the idea of mounting it on the scope at a 45 deg. angle, because it would put it in my left eye's field of view. (I'm right eye dominant, and right handed)

I was looking at the gear sector 45 deg. railed flashlight mount on PSA's website, which supposedly works as a T-1 Micro mount as well. I'm concerned, though that the sight height would be way too low. Any ideas on what sort of riser to use? Also, do you have to remove the sight to replace the battery? I have a nasty habit of forgetting to turn off the sights and killing batteries.

Why not put it on a 45 on the right side and let the rifle rotate to where the red dot ends up on top or 12 oclock? Also I prefer a micro dot.

That's what I'm suggesting. The gear sector mount is a 45 deg mount that I would hang off the top or side rail. My concern is that the reflex sight (the one mounted on the shotgun pictured above) would be too low on that sort of mount using the same cheek weld as the ACSS-HUD in an ADM 20 MOA QD mount. I want to be able to rotate the rifle without changing the cheek weld.

The reflex sight would have to be mounted about as far forward as the barrel nut to clear the scope mount.

I do NOT want to mount something like the T-1 Micro or other tube-based optic as a secondary optic. Too much weight, too much chance of snagging on stuff, etc... I was just referring to the gear sector mount's rail height being appropriate to mount a T-1. on.

Also, when you say micro-dot, are you referring to the reflex sight above, or something else?

Dmitri: I ordered one of the reflex sights along with the ACSS HUD, and just started digging in to the manual on the website (didn't see it before I bought).

I'm concerned that there is no on/off switch. I know that it says to cover the sensor to lengthen the battery life, but if you're only getting about 45 days on medium brightness, so, what kind of battery life are you getting when it is on "power-saving mode"?

I had intended to leave this thing in storage with the battery installed, as a "good to go" night sight, and just flip on the power switch when needed. Am I going to be changing the battery every 2-3 months?

Also, when using the included Burris style mount, will it end up as the same height as a burris FF? In other words, can I use the AR-F3 mount on top of the 45 deg mount to get correct height over bore?

You should be able to 45 and if its not covered it will not turn off.

What I'm asking is this: If I cover the sensor with the included plastic cover, will I need to change the battery every 2-3 months? The manual says it goes into "power saving mode," but isn't very specific about what that means. If I leave the thing alone, covered, in a dark safe, and take it out 3, 4, or months later (there are times during the year when I don't get out to the range often), am I going to likely be looking at a dead battery?

Update: arrived today. No riser needed. Gear sector 45 deg. flashlight mount works beautifully for height above bore. Very minimal cheek weld adjustment necessary to see the dot with factory zero (granted, I haven't zeroed it at the range yet).

Dmitri: The sight doesn't appear to work at all in a darkened room. I knew that it was supposed to into "power saving mode", but didn't realize that this was a day-only optic. Is this normal for the reflex sight?

In a dark room it should dim in a blk room turn off.

I recently bought 2 of these myself. I noticed that mine was off in a dark room. I have a light mounted to my rifle and it was turned on the the reflex sight still was "off".

Is there anything I can do to leave it on? Any plans for a on/off model?
Don't you know the rule?? Never open the safe in front of the wife!!!
