    Valdada IOR Tactical 10x 42mm

I'm considering getting a Valdada IOR 10x 42mm with MP-8 reticle. It will go on a Rem 700 SPS Tactical in .308. I'm going to use it for paper targets out to 800-ish yds.

Anyone have one that can share their opinions?

    Thanks!

    I do....awesome scopes/glass....only complaint...they are heavy...but that's cause they're built like tanks.

One sits on my 15 pound 50bmg....no problems.

As you probably have seen, I am similarly looking at the 6x42 version.

I don't feel qualified to give advice, but interestingly it looks like the 10x56 is virtually the same price as the 10x42 version. See page 2

I noticed that too and am considering the 56 as well. Since my eyes probably can't use more than the 4.2mm exit pupil, though it's not like I've had them measured; maybe they could be able to use the 5.6mm that the 56mm provides. Just a trade off with ring height I guess.

        Opinions or guidance anyone?

Ok, want to bump this up one time to see if I get any more input. Also, if someone has an alternative (variable FFP, similar price point) I'd love to hear it. Looking to buy in a couple weeks. Thanks.

The Burris XTR2 is another option if you're interested in a variable power scope, it has a better turret system than the IOR you're interested in though the IOR has slightly better glass. Either are good options and since you're local, you can let us know when you'd like to come in to check out some options in person and see what fits you best.
